Ronald William Artest, Jr. (born November 13, 1979) is an American professional basketball player who used to plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA and recently the New York Knicks. Artest gained reputation as one of the premier defenders in the game today, winning the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2004 and being part of the winning 2010 NBA Finals Lakers team. He has changes his name legally in 2011 to Metta World Peace.
